We Need You at Occupy San Diego at 8:30am

San Diego supporters of Occupy San Diego we will be gathering at the civic center at 8:30am to reunite after being raided by San Diego police officers at 2am with no warning. Over 40 demonstrators were arrested during the raid last night, homeless peoples belonings thrown away, people's arms twisted with brutal force and possibly broken.

Not only was the civic center raided so was childrens park. Donations from generous people around San Diego county were thrown away, medical supplies destroyed and tossed. People hauled away like cattle just for sleeping in the civic center. We have been non-violent and will continue to be, but we will not take brutal force from the police anymore.

We are angry and will not shut up, but use our voices to tell our stories. What happened last night was actions from cowards that attacked people that feed more homeless in a day than all other charties in San Diego do in a week. We have been providing a safe place for people to sleep that normally are harassed by the cops. We have helped people with basic needs such as soap, tooth paste, vitamins, shampoo, sleeping bags, blankets, pillows, clothes and the list goes on.

What is wrong with our country? What have we been doing to deserve this nasty disrespectful treatment. If you have money you get away with all dirty deeds, but if you do not you are raided and terrorized. People you need to step up and speak out against police states and this utter power trip by the San Diego Mayor and city council. These people can't even answer your phone calls or questions, they hide like cowards.

Channel 10 and Other Mainstream Media Show up Three Hours After Police Raid on San Diego Occupy

Cameras and video recorders were confiscated throughout the raid. But three hours after the raid mainstream media pulls up in their big corporate vans right on to the sidewalk. Were their camera's taken no. Were they harassed and told they have to get out of the area or would be hauled off to jail no. They were welcomed by the San Diego police with open arms.

They filmed an empty civic center that was raided three hours before they arrived. They filmed the police throwing our belongings out and power washing the area we had occupied for the last three weeks. Homeless people lost everything they had. We lost all the donations given to us by generous people. We lost our nurses tent with lots of medical supplies to help the sick and hurt. We lost our food station that was feeding more homeless in a day than anyother facility in San Diego does in a week.

The mainstream media missed the whole event. They were sleeping while people were hauled to jail for peacefully protesting. The media was nowhere to be found until the raid was earsed from the scene only to show a few protesters across the street and a bunch of clowns in police uniforms. But of course the mainstream media wanted to talk to us after the fact. I would not look at them or give them a second of my time. Hey corporate media and the San Diego police you are not for the people, you are for the corporations.

I Am Live @ San Diego Occupy Police Raided Us Last Night

I have been participating in Occupy San Diego for over two weeks now. There have been many false alarms regarding the police, but tonight was not one of them. I was asleep on a cot in the nurses tent when I woke to police marching in with gas mask, batons and guns. Withing a minute they were demanding we leave or they would take action. I saw two people escorted for no reason directly into one of the many police vehicles surrounding the Civic Center in Downtown San Diego.

There were at least 100 officers on the ground in the first group. As I headed out of the Civic Center it was getting very ugly. At least 45 people have been arrested and not sure how many brutal beaten or injured due to police brutality. As I stood outside the civic center calling friends on the phone involved in this movement, another 30 to 40 police cars had their sirens on and were heading to the civic center as backup.

I have never seen anything like this before. It was a very quiet night and nothing to provoke a police force of this magnitude to come and terrorize us like this. I have been polite and have treated the cops with respect and dignity. But after what I saw this morning I have no respect for any officer in a uniform. These men and women have characters of jack asses.

Yesterday I again called the San Diego Mayor and City Council office asking for their support. I asked the young lady that answered the phone if she could answer a few questions. Why do you not support Occupy San Diego and what can we do to get your support. The person that answered the phone did not have one answer or response except I will pass this message on.

There have been no actions within this movement to ignite such a forceful and violent attack on our rights. Orange County, California unanimously voted to pass a law to allow their occupiers tents and even offered to give them extra blankets or whatever they needed. What on earth does this prove to the people of San Diego, California, the country and world? It proves we are governed by a police state. We are slaves to their law and not the constitutional law.

I urge anyone that lives in San Diego to come to the civic center today and protest with us and give your support. We need you, we want you and we need to show the police force of San Diego they do no own us. Please I implore to stop thinking you are not part of the 99% and come down today or tonight and help us protest and show that 99% of the people have power and we will not sit down and shut up.

Businesswoman Goes Off on Occupy San Diego Protesters

SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - It's hard to tell what kind of impact the Occupy San Diego protests are having on the political movement, but one thing is certain -- a local businesswoman wants them gone...

I am live at Occupy San Diego. There are a few food cart vendors in the area we are occupying. These vendors are part of the 99%, maybe now they know, what it is like to have your job or business taken from you. We did not personally target these businesses, they are, a part of the domino effect of what is happening around the world. They should be mad, like we are, at the real cause of why we are occupying.

Tents Start Popping Back Up at Occupy San Diego

Last night as I walked back into the Civic Center things looked different. It has been over a week since we were ordered to take our tents down. Now they are popping back up. Colors of green, beige and lite yellow lined the Civic Center floor last night. May this be a sign that more tents will go up today and our community be vibrant again as we Occupy San Diego Civic Center and make our voices heard regarding the corrupt politicians, bankers and the 1% that needs to learn how to share.

Downtown San Diego City Council Walks Out on Occupy San Diego

The chanting started and the room erupted shouting, We Are The 99%, after a member from Occupy San Diego read a statement stating the groups demands. Tony Young, President of city council in downtown San Diego was irritated that the speaker went over her allotted time. He decided to skip the next speaker and the occupy San Diego group did not like that.

The eyes of the council members were wide and off guard, to be honest they looked a little scared at what they were witnessing. Tony Young and council members, except Marti Emerald walked out of the room. At the same time we were informed that the police were gathering in numbers and surrounding our one tent. But that turned out to be false information which seems to happen alot.

As I watched the meeting it was obvious that Tony Young did not have alot of respect for the general public and their voices. He made many sarcastic comments and did not pay attention to what was being said most of the time. Other members on the council were also very distracted by eating and talking to each other that I am sure they did not hear what half the people voiced opinions about.

These people are public servants working for the people of San Diego. We voted these people into office and we can also recall and vote them out. It is time to stand up against all public servants that are not in our best interest. I called the Mayor and City Council Offices today 619-236-6330 Fax: 619-236-7228 emial:jerrysanders@sandiego.com and voiced my disappointment in their walk out.

I urged the Mayor to support Occupy San Diego and also the council members. I feel it is time to start a petition of recall against all San Diego council members that will not support our movement and allow us tents and other necessities for our occupation. Observing the way many operated in the chambers today of city council I do not expect their behavior to change, but I could be wrong.

Also on the agenda today at the council meeting they talked about the addition to the Convention Center. People from various walks talked about the negative effect it would have on hotel workers and people in San Diego County that would have to pay taxes to build this addition. But the Hotel Owners would not have to contribute a cent of their own money. What a bunch of bullshit!
